Deborah Makerson Joins Southern Family Dental Partners
New affiliation bolsters footprint in Augusta Metropolitan and expands footprint in neighboring markets.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (August 5th, 2023) Southern Family Dental Partners (SFDP), a regional DSO founded by
dental professionals for dental professionals, is proud to announce its acquisition of Augusta Family
Dental Medical District and Millen Family Dental, formerly the offices of Deborah Makerson, DMD, a 2-
location family dental practice located in the Medical District of Augusta, GA and Millen, GA respectively. Dr. Deborah Makerson has practiced general dentistry in the Augusta area since 1986, building a
reputation of excellent patient care and a legacy of community involvement and mentorship.
In this new relationship, Augusta Family Dental Medical District and Millen Family Dental will benefit
from SFDP’s operational expertise and leadership, enabling their staff to focus on providing the highest
level of clinical care as well as achieve a healthier work-life balance. “Dr. Deborah Makerson has been
serving her community for almost 40 years, and we are honored to come alongside her. Our partnership
will allow her to focus on her patients while we focus on the business side of the business,” said Jennifer

The addition of Augusta Family Dental Medical District to the SFDP affiliate network marks the fourth
location in the Augusta area with a total of 15 practices in Tennessee, Georgia, and Arkansas to date.
SFDP is well capitalized and positioned for success as they continue expanding into additional regional
markets within the southeast.
